Geraint is a highly acclaimed Professor in the School of Applied Sciences of Edinburgh Napier University and Lead Academic at the Mountain Bike Centre of Scotland (MTBCOS). He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Science and Cycling. G has been working with athletes since 2003 and is current coach of EWS Ibis Team race Lewis Buchanan.

Dr Lesley Ingram - Academic MTBCOS

A former world cup xc mountain bike racer, Lesley is an associate lecturer with a PhD in exercise immunology and performance physiology. Lesley recently trained Mark Beaumont for his round the world solo bike ride and looks after sport science support within the group. 


Dr Tom Campbell - Academic MTBCOS

Lecturer in Sports Exercise & Health, Programme Leader for Business & Enterprise in Sport (online). Tom is that rare animal that works in both physiology and psychology disciplines. He has worked on various mtb projects at MTBCOS including Flaer and Descent Master. 


Lewis Kirkwood - PHD Student


PhD final year student investigating demands of enduro mountain bike racing, taking into account effect on immune system and looking at novel models of physiological loading. Lewis has twice been a Scottish Hard Tail Enduro Series Winner. 


Dr Mark Taylor

Mark is a keen cyclist and has conceived and build up the DataBike which is an instrumented bike he uses to investigate the road surfaces encountered in commuting. He has more recently hooked up with his sport science colleagues at Edinburgh Napier to investigate the impact of vibration in mountain biking.
